Waterfront Vacation home in Rockport, Texas. Welcome to Holiday on the Bay – 1, a vacation rental that is the place to stay in Rockport, Texas. This vacation home is a tropical haven and home away from home that provides Texas hospitality, sunny days and Coastal breezes. This vacation retreat is located right on a main canal of Copano Bay, one of the largest and most pristine bays on the Texas Gulf Coast. At Holiday on the Bay, you can view spectacular sunsets, take a fishing trip, have an unforgettable family vacation, enjoy a friend’s get away or just relax and read a great book.
Holiday on the Bay has undergone extensive remodeling providing you with a relaxing, aquatic and coastal décor. The ambience is airy with an open concept making communication and entertainment a breeze. Your vacation hideaway includes three bedrooms (King, 2 twins and 2 full beds) and lots of extras to make your vacation memorable (e.g., sun deck, enclosed sun room, 50 ft private dock with underwater fishing light, cable TV with DVD/VCR, CD stereo and the neighborhood has private boat launch, T-head pier, playground and swimming pool). We have worked hard to make this a special vacation refuge for you, your family and your friends.
If you do not have a fishing boat and do not want to hire a guide, come and fish all day and night off of your private 50-foot dock that includes a green underwater fishing light or on the neighborhood lighted pier.
Upon request we will provide information about area fishing guides as well as boat rental facilities.
And if beaches are your thing, you can enjoy Texas' only Blue Wave Beach in the heart of Rockport, or take a short drive to other area beaches.
Rockport is known for some of the best fishing and bird watching in Texas and is home to many famous artists. You can also enjoy Rockport’s shopping, galleries, museums and dining or just kick back and enjoy the privacy of this tranquil and quiet retreat. (movie, book and game library included).

Fishing:
The home sits on a main canal leading into Copano Bay which provides some of the best fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast. This bay provides numerous reefs as well as wade fishing opportunities. Whether in your boat or by fishing guide the home is only a short boat ride to St. Charles Bay, San Jose island, Aransas Bay, and Mesquite bay to name a few. (inquire of owner if you would like a fishing guide) In addition to the dock/pier fishing at the home and neighborhood, one of Texas' largest lighted fishing peers is just 2 miles from this home.
Boating:
The neighborhood hosts a private boat and kayak launch and Rockport provides many piers for quick access to top fishing/boating/sailing and kayak spots. Boat and kayak rentals are also available in Rockport. Inquire of owner for more information.
Birding:
Birding is at its best at the Aransas wildlife refuge which is just a few miles north on I35. During mid-September we have the humming bird migration and in the winter the elusive and extinct whopping cranes stop over (some right in neighborhood). Birding tours are available, inquire of the owner. Pelicans, herons, ducks and egrets year round.
Beaches/swimming:
Rockport is home to Texas' only Blue Wave beach and we are only a short distance from other area beaches. In addition to the neighborhood swimming pool, Rockport has a beautiful city pool.
Other:
Rockport is an artist community and is brimming with local talent and galleries for the art enthusiast. Rockport also has many opportunities for shopping, dining out, golfing as well as visiting museums. Rockport also hosts numerous festivals throughout the year as do many of the surrounding towns. Airports:
In addition to having its own airport, Rockport is only 30 miles from Corpus Christi and is about 150-175 miles from Austin, Houston or San Antonio.
